Minnesota sues “extended warranty” marketer

Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson filed a lawsuit on February 22, 2016 against a Missouri-based auto service contract company for deceptive tactics.  This is at least the second complaint filed in as many years by the Minnesota Attorney General against a service contract provider.

According to the press release, the company falsely told some callers that their existing warranty had expired.  The company falsely told other callers that its warranty covered “everything” on the vehicle when, in reality, according to the Attorney General, the service contracts contained a long list of exclusions.
